ASISTERSPROJECT announced the completion of its recent school renovation project at the Franciscan Stigmatines in Kinshasa, The Democratic Republic of Congo which will provide a sustainable and consistent educational facility for year round study.

As a result of the renovation, children will be able to attend school the entire year ensuring on time delivery of education.  During the rainy season from March until June, the school was forced to close due to its poor structural conditions and fear for the student’s safety.  The renovation, which included a new roof and complete update of the structure was completed in September and is scheduled to reopen in October.

We are proud to work with the Sisters to complete this much needed project. “  said Sydney Tshimbalanga, co-founder and director of ASISTERSPROJECT.  “As a student, I know how important the environment is to learning.”

ASISTERSPROJECT.ORG was formed by sisters Sydney and Cassidy Tshimbalanga after spending time working in the orphanage with their family in 2011. It’s mission is to form a global sisterhood to help end violence and poverty for women and children.

Sydney and Cassidy are winners of the Bush foundations, Points of Light award and Youth Service America, National Youth Service Award for their commitment to community service and their work in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
